EXCISION OF FRONTAL SINUS OSTEOMA (A RARE CASE) BY EXTERNAL APPROACH
A rare case of frontal sinus osteoma was excised by external approach by an osteoplastic flap surgery
A rare case of frontal sinus osteoma was excised by external approach by an osteoplastic flap surgery in NMCSH, Abu Dhabi by our team of doctors. Frontal sinus osteomas are mostly asymptomatic but it may precipitate chronic sinusitis, mucocoele or chronic headache depending on site, size and duration of the tumor. A symptomatic ;arge frontal sinus osteoma arising from posterior wall of the sinus may pose a surgical dilemma in this era of image guided endoscopic sinus surgery. The patient has been successfully followed up in our hospital with excellent and satisfactory results.
